What Is a Creator Event? A Guide for Perth Businesses

A creator event brings a business and a carefully chosen group of content creators together to experience something worth sharing. It might be a store opening in Subiaco, a new menu at a Perth venue, a product launch or an introduction to a brand.

The important part is choosing the right people for that particular business. A guest list should have a clear purpose, whether you are introducing a new offering, sharing your story or helping creators experience what makes your business different.

It starts with your business, not a standard guest list

My approach to creator events in Perth is bespoke. I take the time to understand your business, who you want to reach and what you want guests to experience before I begin curating the creator list.

I hold a large creator database, which gives me a starting point for finding people who could suit your business. From there, I look at the fit between the creator, their content, their audience and your offering. I do not simply send the same list to every business.

For a food business, that could mean looking for creators whose content and audience connect with the dining experience you offer. A fashion launch may need a different mix. The aim is to build a guest list that makes sense for you.

How I choose the right content creators

Follower numbers are only one part of the picture. I also consider the kind of content a creator makes, how they communicate, their connection to Perth and whether their audience is relevant to the business.

Someone can have a large following and still be the wrong fit for your event. Equally, a creator with a smaller, relevant audience may be a strong match. The selection needs to support the business and the experience, rather than focus on one number.

That curation is a central part of my role. It is about making considered choices, then coordinating the invitations and confirmations around an agreed brief.

Does a creator event have to be big?

No. The scale is shaped around your business, venue, budget and purpose.

You might be considering an intimate experience for 10 creators, a launch with 20 or 30, or a larger event for 100 or 200. We can discuss the size you have in mind and work through what is practical, including the venue capacity and the creators available.

A smaller event can give guests more time to experience your business and speak with you. A larger event needs a different level of planning and coordination. The right size is the one that supports what you want to achieve.

Creator curation and presenting can work together

For the Di Mario Shoes launch in Subiaco, I brought together creator event curation and presenting to introduce the store to invited creators and guests.

That combination can help give an event a personal welcome and a clear introduction to the brand. Presenting can be discussed alongside creator curation when it suits the brief.

What should you decide before planning an event?

Start with what you want people to understand about your business. What are you introducing? Who do you want to reach? What will guests experience when they arrive?

It also helps to have an idea of your preferred date, location, budget and guest numbers. These details give us a useful starting point for shaping the event and selecting suitable creators.

Any content expectations should be agreed as part of the project. Inviting someone does not automatically guarantee a particular post, audience reach or sales result.

You can also book content without an event

If your business needs video or photography, you do not have to organise a creator launch. Digital Content Creation is available as a standalone service for Perth businesses, including cafés, stores and brands.

We can discuss whether content creation, a creator event or a combination best suits what you need.
